Company Bio

Kimberly Busbee has more than 25 years of international experience with hundreds of films, plays and musicals to her credit.  A busy casting director, producer, filmmaker and owner of AriesWorks Entertainment, she also offers professional acting classes and private coaching for stage and screen. Kimberly has cast numerous films, plays, and regional /national commercials and industrials. She also cast and directed an international touring theatre company, Music /Theatre Artists, which won top reviews with the U.S.O. In Los Angeles, Kimberly cast two stage productions (Landscape of the Body and Two Gentlemen of Verona) at the Eclectic Company Theatre and won raves from the critics (LA Times Critics Choice). In Iowa, she cast, produced and/or co-directed 14 AriesWorks plays and over a dozen award-winning films and Co-Founded the Vaudeville Mews Theatre.

 

Among casting many other features, she headed up Iowa Casting for speaking roles for 2 major international SAG films; The Crazies and Dead Awake. She also was Casting Director for the SAG indie films, ASH, and Boone Style. Kimberly co-wrote/ cast/produced Haunting Villisca, based on the unsolved 1912 Villisca axe murders and modern day paranormal investigations, which features GregAlan Williams (Remember the Titans, Be Cool, The Sopranos, Necessary Roughness) with more than 80 talented Midwest actors.  Haunting Villisca had its World Premiere in Vienna, Austria and was distributed in the U. S. Kimberly also produced, cast and co-supervised music for the SAG feature comedy, Molly’s Girl starring Ellen Dolan (“Margo” from As the World Turns), Kristina Valada-Viars (Broadway’s “August: Osage County”, The Door in the Floor, Law and Order) and Emily Schweitz (Starved ,E. R) which found international distribution.  As former Co-Director of Project Cornlight, founded by Tanna Frederick, Kimberly cast/produced the feature, Garner, Iowa fka The Farm, starring Tanna Frederick (Queen of the Lot, Just 45 Minutes From Broadway), Tom Bower (Diehard 2, Crazy Heart, The Hills Have Eyes, Pollock, Angry Little God) and her former student, Rylie Behr (I Heart Shakey).

 

As Co-Founder/Director for the international Wild Rose Independent Film Festival, she has judged over 2,000 submitted films in 10 years and hosted industry pros including: Lloyd Kaufman (Troma Entertainment) actor GregAlan Williams (see above credits), writer/director Stu Pollard (Keep Your Distance), actor Ben Easter (Holiday in the Sun, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer), Lew Hunter (author of  Screenwriting 434),Jamie Rose (Actress/Casting Director/Acting Coach of JRose Studio in LA) , director, John Putch (Route 30 and Route 20, Too!, Scrubs, Ugly Betty, My Name is Earl), Ellen Dolan (As the World Turns, Molly’s Girl) director Randal Kleiser (The Blue Lagoon, Flight of the Navigator) and actor Tom Bower (see above credits). Kimberly also has hosted industry workshops by legendary casting director, Mike Fenton (E.T., The Godfather), acting coach/casting director Mark Sikes and television casting director Meryl O’Loughlin (The Young and the Restless).

 

Kimberly is in development for the paranormal TV reality/documentary pilot, Opened Doors: Glimpses from the Spirit World and is slated to produce and cast several feature films in Iowa.
